Louisa designed a close-up of an anime face for me to use as a quilt design. Louisa knows how to sew but doesn’t yet have quilting experience. I needed a modern and a traditional design to teach applique’ in a video. The method used was turned edge with Terial Magic. View the video:
The same shape is used for the buds of the 1850 Whig Rose and the anime eye. The eye required some study to choose where to place the white spot. Thank you for the cameras on cell phones. The white spot brings the face to life. Yes, the eyeliner helps. The last row shows the addition of a border and the quilting.
For those of you new to anime, it is an artistic style of animation originating in Japan. This photo is a link to the Ouran High School Host Club, a manga series and anime by Bisco Hatori.
