Spring has arrived here in the Sacramento valley. A few weeks ago the trees were bare and now some are aggressively pink. Pink and blue were a common color combination when I learned to quilt in the early 1990s. I still have a variety of old fabrics in those colors. The color yellow must be added to pink and blue to turn them into an actual color combination found on an artist’s color wheel. That would be called the primary triad. Notice the yellow moss on the tree limbs.
I remember when I was very young I had a paper doll set that included a coat in chocolate brown and pink. I thought it was very pretty which shows that we can learn about color anywhere, and at any age.
