The earth friendly quilt batting is highly recommended. The 100% bamboo is soft like silk. In Laurels' quality test it shrank 1% when washed in hot tap water and dried in the dryer. After washing it retained an even thickness and left a small amount in the dryer lint filter. 100% Bamboo is easy to needle and very drapable. Buy the polyester/cotton blend if you want a stiffer batting. Prewashing is recommended for the batting containing cotton. It is optional for the 100% Bamboo. The bamboo is antimicrobial and earth friendly. It is a member of the grass family and can grow 3 feet per day. It produces more oxygen and uses up more carbon dioxide than other crops. The quilt Stargazer is made with 100% Bamboo.
